Q.When used as a long term (5 years or more) flashing onto ajoining 'polycarbinate' flat roofs, will there be any issues of the two similar chemical based products, causing a breakdown or any other long term degrading, leading to weather penitration etc.
A.As long as the flashband is running between the brickwork and the polycarbonate roof and there are no other materials coming into contact with it there will be no problems. You have to be very careful when using silicones under no circumstances should you use an acetic curing silicone i.e. LMA’s or HMA’s as they will react with the bitumen.
